Brief Description: Multiple Intelligences and Project Development was a training course financed by the Key Action 1 of the Erasmus+ programme in which 23 participating professionals from 6 different countries worked together with the objective to use youth work and theatre methodologies as a form of non-formal education. La Asociación Juvenil Teatral ON&OFF, and Dinámica Teatral as a collaborative entity, hosted from the 26th of February until the 5th of March, in Munilla, Ambitia (Slovenia), Inceptus (Lithuania), Artimbanco (Italy), Cirkus Stjerneskud (Denmark) and Act for Art (Greece), with the objective to learn how to offer the young people from their entities the tools that they need to develop their own artistic projects. In order to achieve this, they used the theory of Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences, developing workshops about each of these intelligences, and how to utilize the knowledge of the intelligences to develop a project. Similarly, the course l...

Day 6

Imagen
Our training course has sadly come to an end.  Today , being our final day, we all sat down together to make some final presentations of our organisations. Each organisation presented to the group, what skills and talents that they have, what Erasmus+ experience they have and projects they plan to do, and also to explain what exactly their organisation is so that the other organisations could see how useful working together would be. Time was then put aside to allow the participants to network amongst themselves and some even made plans for future projects! The last task of MIPD was explaining exactly what is Youth Pass and then handing out signed certificates to all the MIPD participants. While everyone is sad to leave each other, there is an overwhelming sense that we will be keeping in touch for future projects.

Day 5

Our project is starting to edge towards its end. Today we started the day with a presentation of ON&OFF's best practices for creating a social media following which was then followed by an open floor, for all the partner organisations to share their ideas on how to best organise projects. Afterwards, the participants went to the woods to explore their naturalistic intelligence! The main activity of the project involved all the participants being blindfolded and led shoulder by shoulder into the woods to listen to the music of nature. After making their way halfway up the hill, they were paired into the blindfolded and leaders. The task was then for the leaders to lead their blindfolded partners up the mountain while stopping to smell the roses. However, the leaders couldn't say what their partners were touching, they could only describe it through metaphors. It was such a relaxing return to nature for all the participants that was topped off by a trip to the hot springs of...

Day 4

Imagen
Our cultural visit to Logro ñ o was very exciting for our participants who have never been to spain, but also equally as exciting for the participants that have been to other parts of spain. This is because Logro ñ o has a very realistic view of Spain to show to tourists. The participants first went to IRJ to meet the President of La Rioja and to view the Spanish youth facilities. This proved to be an important opportunity for the participants to learn how Spanish projects are organised and funded. After a public social event with the president, the participants finally got to experience the true Spanish tradition of Calle Laurel- the famous Spanish tapas street! We were even invited to free tapas on the expense of IRJ! The participants then had a few hours to explore our beautiful city before we joined together again to participate in a Musical Intelligence Workshop. We also had the pleasure of interviewing youngsters who have participated in the original project of "Project...

Day 3

Imagen
Half way into our project and we have reached a point of trust and comfort, so high that we decided to take it to the next step with an intrapersonal workshop. It was really important that during these activities that everyone worked on a personal level and privately. It proved to be a very special self discovery for a lot of people as they delved further into their past and emotions. After the intrapersonal workshop, we felt it was important to explore how these activities about the different intelligences could be applied to teaching workshops in different aspects of Erasmus+ projects. We discussed what different intelligences would be necessary in order to create the ideal team for a variety of different projects. The participants found it very interesting to present their research as they realised the intelligences they found to be most valuable. We decided that after a day of sharing our ideas and good practices, it only made sense to share our cultures as well. Our cult...

Day 2

Imagen
Day two we explored the intelligence of our problem solving minds with the Logical-Mathematical Intelligence. This intelligence was quickly found amongst a few of the participants, however, the brain teaser task they were given to test this intelligence, left quite a lot of people stumped. This intelligence involved quite a lot of problem solving, from floor games to real life problem solving. Some of these problem solving tasks became so difficult, that they started a revolution between the participants where they campaigned for their rights as others threatened the death sentence, another activity left the life of 20 people in the hands of a pencil and another exposed participants of this training course to be members of the Al Qaeda. Quite an interesting start to the day. Secondly we quite literally EXPLORED the visual-spatial intelligence. The participants were divided into two groups and as they waited outside the room, the work room was transformed into a completely differ...

Getting started!

Imagen
The first day of activities in MIPD is over and everything is already in the move. After arriving last night we took a walk around Munilla and got and insight to Spanish way of living and some of La Rioja's tradition, as well as seing the XV century church and bridge. But today has been the day to start working hard. Early in the morning we started the day by doing some getting-acquinted activities, showing our artistic side (what a pity there is not an "artistic intelligence"). The pieces of art we created should definitely have their place in the most prestigious museums. Then we got into business. The basis of this project were presented and we found out about Projecting Youth (you can access the presentation through this link ) and we brainstormed on our impressions on the different intelligences gathered in Howard Gardner's theory. After lunch break we started the afternoon workshops by learning new ice-breakers and energizers to get our groups...
