Day 4
Our cultural visit to Logroño was very exciting for our participants who have never been to spain, but also equally as exciting for the participants that have been to other parts of spain.
This is because Logroño has a very realistic view of Spain to show to tourists. The participants first went to IRJ to meet the President of La Rioja and to view the Spanish youth facilities. This proved to be an important opportunity for the participants to learn how Spanish projects are organised and funded. After a public social event with the president, the participants finally got to experience the true Spanish tradition of Calle Laurel- the famous Spanish tapas street! We were even invited to free tapas on the expense of IRJ! The participants then had a few hours to explore our beautiful city before we joined together again to participate in a Musical Intelligence Workshop. We also had the pleasure of interviewing youngsters who have participated in the original project of "Projecting Youth" and showing them an interpretation of the manual that was created through their original workshops. The Musical Intelligence explored different rhythmic skills but also skills involved with the movement of your body in order to depict stories and to express yourself without words. The participants were so inspired by the ideas in the manual for the Musical Intelligence that they proposed to continue with more workshops even after we got back to the hostel.
